With the rise in demand for office-based procedures that allow for more flexibility with surgeons’ schedules, avoid the facility fee, and provide convenience to ambulatory patients, the need for safe anesthesia services in physician offices has grown significantly. Our practice is in compliance with the American Society of Anesthesiologists’ Guidelines for Office Based Anesthesia and adheres to the requirements of the State of Arizona. We aim to provide efficient and safe care for the patients and optimize their satisfaction. By improving safety and efficiency, our surgeons find that they are able to complete more cases and improve productivity while minimizing waiting lists for their patients. Our practice will provide all the necessary equipment and medications for your convenience.
The Requirements for the Office
The Arizona law permits sedation in office settings and does not require that the physician office be registered as a healthcare institution. The anesthesia practice must meet the guidelines of proper equipment, emergency medications, standard monitoring, patient consent, and an emergency and transfer protocol. Policies and procedures for informed consent, cardiopulmonary emergencies, and unexpected hospital transfers are made available by our practice and will be reviewed prior to delivery of care at your facility.
